The Project
This property called for a landscape design that matched its contemporary architecture — clean concrete retaining walls, structured planting beds, and a material palette that felt modern without losing a natural, textured feel.
The Process
We built a poured concrete retaining wall to define the raised planting bed, then filled it with a mix of ornamental grasses, ferns, and flowering perennials, layered around natural boulder accents for scale and texture. Mulch was used throughout to finish the beds, retain moisture, and suppress weeds — a small detail that makes a real difference in how a planting bed holds up over time. A stepping stone pathway, paired with a natural stone staircase, ties the space together and provides a clean route through the garden.
