The Project
A Victoria homeowner wanted to replace a patchy, high-maintenance backyard lawn with a low-maintenance alternative that would hold up to daily use without the ongoing costs of watering, mowing, and reseeding. Victoria Landscaping, a certified Lazy Lawn installer, was brought in to design and install an artificial lawn suited to the property's layout and drainage needs.
The Process
We began by excavating and removing the existing turf and topsoil, then graded and compacted a crushed gravel base to ensure proper drainage and a stable foundation. A layer of sand was added and screeded smooth before the Lazy Lawn synthetic turf was laid, seamed, and secured along the perimeter. Infill was brushed into the fibres to help the blades stand upright and give the lawn a natural, lived-in look. Edges were finished cleanly along existing garden beds and hardscaping to tie the new lawn into the rest of the yard.
