Natural Stone Retaining Wall — Slope & Parking Area

The Project

This natural stone retaining wall was built to solve a real structural challenge: stabilizing a slope while creating a usable, level parking area on the property. It's a great example of stonework doing real work, not just looking good.

The Process

Retaining walls like this one carry actual load — they hold back soil and prevent a slope from shifting or eroding over time, all while creating flat, usable space above or below the wall. Built with natural fieldstone in a random pattern, this wall was engineered with proper base preparation and drainage behind it (critical for any retaining wall — without it, water pressure builds up behind the stone and can push a wall out of alignment over time). The result is a wall that's as structurally sound as it is good-looking.

The Result

A solid, natural stone retaining wall holding back the slope and supporting a stable parking area — built to handle real pressure, not just sit pretty.

  • Natural fieldstone construction

  • Engineered with proper drainage behind the wall

  • Retains the slope while creating usable parking space

  • Built to handle real structural load, not just decorative

Solid walls, done right — engineered to retain the slope and support the parking area above, built to last
